In the HotAdd transport mode, agentless backup deployment involves three networks:
1.Management Network: Used by the third-party backup appand backup management app to access the SCP OpenAPIs.
2.Storage Network: After the business VM disk is hot-added to the third-party backup proxy VM, the backup proxy VM accesses the hot-added disk through the storage network to support backup data reading and writing.
3.Business Network: Used by the third-party backup proxy VM to transfer backup data to the third-party backup storage, completing the storage phase of data backup.
Notes:
1.The HotAdd transport mode only supports third-party backup applications to connect directly to SCP, not HCI.
2.Network deployment requirements for agentless backup:
(1) The third-party app(including the backup app and backup management app) must be connected to the SCP management network over Layer 3.
(2) The backup management app and backup app in the third-party backup proxy VM must be connected over Layer 3 (via the management network or business network).
(3) The third-party backup proxy VM must be able to access the datastore where the business VM resides. It is recommended to deploy backup proxy VMs on multiple HCI hosts to ensure at least one backup proxy VM can access the datastore where the business VM resides.
