1.Configuration Requirements for Backup Proxy VMs:

a.The VM must have the Guest OS and backup app required by the third party installed.

b.The VM must have vmtools installed.

c.The VM must be configured as the "backup proxy" type. Configuration and verification methods are as follows:

Configuration: Use the tool provided by Sangfor to set the VM as a "backup proxy" type.

Verification: View the VM overview on SCP. If the VM is of the backup proxy type, a "DR/Backup Proxy" identifier will be displayed next to the VM name.

Note: SCP provides OpenAPIs for obtaining VM configurations and setting VMs to the backup proxy type.

2.Creation and Download of Backup Proxy VM VMA Image:

a.Create an image: After the backup proxy VM is configured and shut down, click the Create Image button and configure image details:

b.Download the VMA image: After the image creation task is completed, view the created image on SCP (Configuration path: Images > Public VM Images); select the target image, click Operations > ... > Download, and save the VMA image file to the local storage(VMA image files have the suffix ".vma").
