Platform Configuration

{{ $t('productDocDetail.updateTime') }}: 2026-04-29

To use the agentless backup feature, deploy and configure SCP and HCI according to the following requirements:

Step 1.Deploy SCP 6.10.0 or later and HCI 6.10.0 or later.

Note: The HCI cluster must be managed by SCP.

Step 2.Log in to HCI, go to System > Port Management, select Agentless backup data transfer service, and then click Enable.

Step 3.Log in to SCP, go to Resources > Disaster Recovery > Scheduled Backup > Settings, and click the Configure button next to Interface for Backup Transfer in LAN.

Note: To configure Interface for Backup Transfer in LAN, select the correct resource pool (HCI cluster) first, as shown in Figure 22

. If you do not specify an interface for backup data transfer in LAN mode, the management interface of the resource pool is used by default.

You can also configure the interface on HCI. Specifically, log in to HCI, go to Reliability > Settings, and click the Configure button next to Interface for Backup Data Transfer in LAN Mode, as shown in Figure 23.

Relevant configuration parameters are described as follows:

Interface for Backup Data Transfer in LAN Mode: An interface can be specified for backup data transfer between a third-party backup app and the HCI node. The management interface is used by default. You can also select an idle interface or reuse other interfaces. The network connection between the backup data transfer interface and the third-party backup app must be normal; otherwise, backup tasks will fail. It is recommended to configure this parameter as needed and applies to the NBDSSL (including NBD) transport mode.

External Snapshot Merging Speed: You can specify the maximum merging speed for external snapshot deletion to reduce the impact of data merging on production storage performance. Default value: 80 MB/s, Value range: 1-300 MB/s

Backup Transfer Speed per Node in LAN Mode: You can specify the maximum bandwidth for agentless backup. Other communication interfaces (such as the management interface) of HCI nodes can be reused as the backup data transfer interface. In this case, a maximum speed should better be specified; otherwise, backup transfer may consume too many network resources, affecting the network performance of other services. It applies to the NBDSSL (including NBD) transport mode.

Data Transfer Speed per Backup Task: You can specify the maximum bandwidth for disk reading during agentless backup to limit the data transfer speed for a single disk backup task between the third-party backup app and HCI node. Default value: 800 Mbps, Value range: 8-2400 Mbps

Max Concurrent Backup Tasks per Datastore: You can specify the maximum number of disks that can be backed up concurrently on a single production datastore during agentless backup to reduce impacts on the storage IO performance and ensure business stability. Default value: 10, Value range: 2-256

Concurrency control policies for agentless backup and recovery tasks are as follows:

The maximum number of concurrent backup and recovery tasks on a single node is 16.

In the NBDSSL (including NBD) transport mode, the maximum number of disks that can be concurrently backed up or recovered on a single node is 16.
