I.Enable physical host memory tiering

Enabling memory tiering on a virtual machine requires that memory tiering configuration has been completed on its physical host, and the host-side setup must be finished first.

Step1: Log in to the platform and enter the resource center

1. Open the browser, enter the management address of Sangfor Cloud Platform (SCP), and log in with your account and password.

2. After logging in, under the categories of Resource Overview in the left navigation bar, click Resource Center to enter the overall page of cluster management.

Step2: Access the memory tiering configuration page of the target cluster

1. In the cluster tree list on the left side of the resou

2. Click the  tab Setting at the top of the cluster page to enter the cluster configuration interface.

3.In the function menu on the left side of the configuration page, scroll down to find the Resource Ratios category and click the Memory Tiering option to enter the main configuration page for memory tiering.

Step3 Add physical hosts and complete layered configuration

1. On the memory tiering configuration page, click the blue Add Node button to pop up the configuration window. Complete three core configurations in the window:

   Node: Click the drop-down box and select the target online physical host for which memory tiering needs to be enabled;

   Memory Disk: Click the drop-down box and select the pre-planned idle high-performance SSD/NVMe data disk for memory tiering;

   Memory Tiering Ratio: Enter the configuration ratio; the officially recommended configuration is 100%

Step4(Optional): Batch configure multiple hosts

To enable memory tiering for multiple physical hosts in the same cluster in batches, you can repeat Step 3 to add hosts one by one. Alternatively, select the configured hosts in the list and click **Edit** to modify the tiering ratio in bulk.

II. Operation for enabling virtual machine memory tiering

Scenario 1: Enable memory tiering for released existing virtual machines

1. Access the cloud host management page: Log in to the SCP platform, click Virtual Machine in the left navigation bar, or click the Virtual Machine tab at the top of the cluster page to enter the cloud host list page.

2. Open the configuration editing window: Locate the target virtual machine for which memory tiering needs to be enabled in the list, click the Edit button in the operation column, and the virtual machine editing pop-up window will appear.

3. Enable memory tiered configuration:

   ● At the top of the editing pop-up window, click to switch to the Configuration tab;

   ● Scroll down the page to locate the Show More area and find the Memory Tiering configuration item;

   ● Check the Enable checkbox on the right side of Memory Tiering to complete the configuration activation.

4. Configuration takes effect:

   ● After checking the options, click OK at the bottom of the pop-up window to save the configuration;
   ● Activation Verification: After the restart is completed, check the Memory Tiering Status column in the virtual machine list to confirm the status is Enabled, and view the capacity of tiered memory in use at the same time.

Scenario 2: Enable memory tiering synchronously when newly created virtual machines are initially provisioned

1.  Access the new virtual machine wizard: Log in to the SCP platform, enter the Virtual Machine page, and click the +New button in the upper left corner to access the new virtual machine wizard.

2. Complete basic resource configuration: Finish the configuration in Step 1 Create Virtual Machine (select Resource Pool, Image, system disk/data disk settings), click Next to proceed to the Configuration  step.
