Interface Reordering

{{ $t('productDocDetail.updateTime') }}: 2026-01-16

Scenario

You can use this tool to adjust the order of network interfaces if they change following HCI reinstallation on aServer.

This tool is not applicable to clusters that already run business, for example, running VMs or network devices.

You can use this tool to verify NICs. For NICs in the blacklist, no operation is allowed; for NICs in the whitelist, operations are allowed; for NICs not in the blacklist or whitelist, prompts are displayed.

This tool is not applicable to NICs from vendors that are not in the whitelist.

Notes

The host needs to be restarted for the interface adjustments to take effect.

Steps

  1. For example, in the original HCI host, the physical network interface eth0 is the management interface with an IP address of 192.200.244.219; eth1 is the edge interface; and eth2 is the VXLAN interface. As shown in the following figure, after reinstalling the system, the network interfaces are out of order. The physical network interface eth0 is displayed as eth1, the physical network interface eth1 is displayed as eth2, and the physical network interface eth2 is displayed as eth0.

  1. Connect your PC to the management switch. Make sure that the PC is in the same VLAN as the HCI management interface and configure the PC with an IP address in the same subnet as the management interface (e.g., 192.200.244.123).
  2. On the aDeploy homepage, click Toolkit and Interface Reordering. Enter the IP address of the management interface (192.200.244.219) and admin password, and then click Manual Reorder.

After adjusting the network interfaces, the original management interface VLAN can no longer access the HCI host. The configured management interface IP address (10.131.199.84) will be transferred to the eth1. Please connect your PC to the eth1 switch and access the HCI host via https://192.200.244.219. Then, change the management port address to the physical eth0.

  1. Add aServer to the HCI cluster after adjust the interface order.
