Health Check
The health check feature checks the health status of HCI hardware, services, configurations, and overall operation. This feature is applicable in various scenarios, including configuration check, service pack (SP) check, pre-upgrade/post-upgrade health check, and routine health check after HCI installation. In addition, it enables you to customize tags for important virtual machines (VMs) before running a health check and automatically generates a health report in .pptx, .docx, and other formats after a health check.
Toolkit
- Sangfor HCI Installation
You can use this tool to install HCI on multiple servers at a time via a Layer 2 network.
- Disk Cleanup
You can use this tool to clean up key disk directories of HCI and files.
- Interface Reordering
When HCI is reinstalled on aServer, the order of its interfaces changes, requiring adjustment of its network interfaces. You can use this tool to adjust the interface order.
- Patch Validation Removal
If an HCI upgrade fails due to certain SPs or custom packages, you can use this tool to skip the validation of the SPs or custom packages.
- IPMI Password Change
You can use this tool to obtain and modify the IPMI password of servers.
- Sangfor Installer
You can use this tool to quickly deploy Endpoint Secure agent on HCI.
You can also use this tool to quickly deploy agents of Sangfor Endpoint Secure, Database Audit System (DAS), and Log Audit System (LAS) on SCP.
- Admin Password Encryption
You can provide the password of an HCI administrator to generate an encrypted password.
- HCI Cluster Shrink
You can use this tool to shrink a cluster or a virtual datastore.
- Allow SSD
You can use this tool to obtain the latest online whitelist of the SSD models compatible with current HCI version and server type. This ensures that your SSDs support virtual datastore creation, and enhances overall business reliability by preventing business interruptions due to SSD incompatibility after virtual datastore creation.
- Burn-in Test
You can use this tool to check the online status and health of the hardware of HCI nodes before delivery.
You can check whether delivered devices are damaged and the health of a test device to be replaced.
- Test Platform
You can use the PoC test tool to add environment resources, create PoC test tasks, and conduct I/O performance and reliability tests for different HCI versions and architectures (x86, c86, and Arm). You can also use it for automated environment checks, VM deployment, and test execution. Upon completion of a test, you can download the test report.
- Patch Application
You can use this tool to restart HCI services, so that relevant SPs can take effect.
- Allow RDMA
You can use this tool to update the whitelist of NICs that support Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA).
- Hardware Replacement
aDeploy retains the order of network interfaces before hardware replacement and applies the same order after the replacement. This tool is applicable to aServer only.
- HCI Logs and Configuration Collection
To troubleshoot platform issues, you can use this tool to collect platform logs within a period of up to 15 days.
- License Info
When the license for HCI has expired or is about to expire, it is required to collect the existing license information to apply for a new license. This ensures that the new license matches the current one to maintain accuracy. You can use this tool to collect information about the current HCI license to apply for a new one.
- Pre-sales Selection
You can use this tool to quickly compare and evaluate various product specifications and solutions based on the analysis of product specifications, performance, reliability, cost, and user feedback. You can then receive recommended product solutions that best match your requirements. It helps you quickly find the most suitable product solutions before you place an order, thus improving work efficiency and reducing unnecessary errors and waste.
- aDeploy Logs Collection
You can use this tool to collect logs from aDeploy running on your local system and operation logs under the aDeploy directory on HCI.
- Performance Diagnostics
You can use this automated tool to troubleshoot performance issues, keeping nodes and VMs running with best practice configuration. This tool checks the usage and performance of full-stack resources, from vCPU cores to nodes, and performs system health and performance diagnostics.
- Performance Test
For a new engineer, the processes of cluster health checks and deploying a standard environment are complex and susceptible to errors. Implementing intelligent operations can boost work efficiency, increase product success rates, and improve performance test outcomes.
- Hardware Troubleshooting
You can troubleshoot hardware issues using this tool which supports specifying parameters.
Pre-change Check
- Pre-upgrade Check
a. Check for HCI upgrade path
This feature recommends the target version based on the current one and provides the corresponding upgrade path.
b. HCI pre-upgrade check and pre-upgrade package installation
You can use this feature to check the environment for an upgrade and install the pre-upgrade package without disrupting business operations. It shortens the time required to prepare for an upgrade.
- Pre-patch Check
You can use this feature to check whether the cluster to be upgraded meets the SP installation requirements, such as adequate disk space and the absence of residual files in directories.
- Pre-expansion Check
When you want to add a node to a cluster, you can use this feature to check the health status of the node and the cluster. When you want to add a disk to a datastore, you can use this feature to check the health status of the disk and the datastore.
- Pre-replacement Check for Disks
When you want to replace a disk of a datastore, you can use this feature to check the health status of the new disk and the datastore.
- Pre-replacement Check for Nodes
When you want to replace a node of a cluster, you can use this feature to check the health status of the cluster and the new node.
Feedback
You can give feedback on and rate HCI, SCP, and aDeploy based on your experience.
