The Sangfor aDeploy tool is a critical utility for proactive security and operational health. It provides in-depth analysis and validation that goes beyond the built-in health check, making it essential for routine audits and pre-change verification.
Key aDeploy Functions for Security Hardening:
• Full Health Check: This function performs a comprehensive scan of the HCI cluster. It inspects hardware health, service status, and system configurations, and critically, it checks for missing service packs (SPs), allowing you to identify and address security vulnerabilities and stability issues by listing required patches. It identifies deviations from best practices and potential risks.
• Pre-change Checks: Before any significant modification, aDeploy can validate the environment to prevent failures. This is crucial for:
Pre-upgrade Check: Validates the current environment and installs pre-requisite packages to ensure a smooth upgrade process.
Pre-patch Check: Ensures the cluster has adequate resources and no conflicts before applying an SP.
Pre-expansion/Pre-replacement Check: Verifies the health of new nodes or disks and the cluster's readiness before expansion or hardware replacement.
Recommended Audit Schedule:
• Monthly Health Check: Run a Full Health Check using aDeploy monthly. This will identify latent issues, missing patches, and configuration drift. Download the generated report for record-keeping and remediation tracking.
• Pre-Change Validation:ALWAYS use the relevant Pre-change Check function in aDeploy before performing any major platform upgrade, patch installation, cluster expansion, or hardware replacement. This proactive step significantly reduces the risk of service disruption.
