Host Power Failure Scenario HA

Preconditions:

Virtual machines have been created and vmtools are installed.

A black and white logo AI-generated content may be incorrect.

1.For host power failure HA testing, DO NOT shutting down the node from the WEBUI or press the physical power button.

2.Pay attention to the HA testing environment of the two hosts, and ensure that both hosts have been running for more than 15 minutes before testing, otherwise it may result in virtual machines not HA properly.

Steps:

Step 1: Login to HCI edit the virtual machine, confirm that in the HA filed Restart VM on another node fails is checked, the running location is Host A, the storage location is virtual storage or external storage.

Step 2: From a PC continuously ping the virtual machine's IP address.

Step 3: Unplug the power from Host A , observe and confirm that VM has resumed running on Host B, and that the system, network, and other functions are working properly.

Result: The virtual machine's running location changes to Host B, and the packet loss when pinging the virtual machine is around 2 minutes.
