Sangfor SCP platform supports Continuous Data Protection (CDP) backup protection for tenant virtual machines. CDP stands for continuous data protection. It is an advanced Input/Output (IO) second-level backup technology that can back up every IO.
Precautions:
Tenants don’t have permission to create CDP backup policies, and only the SCP administrator can create the CDP backup policies. After creating the backup policy, it takes effect by default, and tenants can enable and disable the CDP policy.
Prerequisite
None.
Steps:
Login to https://SCP IP:4430 as admin, go to Reliability and select Scheduled Backup/CDP, choose CDP Policy, and click Create CDP Policy to create a new policy.
Configure the CDP parameters: Add the virtual machine that the tenant wants to perform CDP backup into the policy, set the policy Schedule and Backup Point Retention Method, select the Backup Repository, fill in the Name of the policy, and verify the information, then click OK to complete the creation of the policy.
After the platform administrator has created a CDP backup policy, tenants can view the CDP backup details on the Virtual Machine details page. Log in as a tenant from https://SCP IP. Go to Compute > Virtual Machine to enter the virtual machine list, and click the virtual machine name to enter the virtual machine details page.
Click Backup and DR to view the status of the backup policy. Click Stop CDP to stop CDP backup and click Start CDP to enable CDP backup.
