When the primary data center functions as normal but VMs are faulty, you can use the backup data in the primary data center to quickly recover the VMs to the primary data center. You can create a new VM based on a backup without affecting the original VM. After verifying the internal data of the new VM, you can replace the original production VM with the new VM.
When you need to maintain the primary data center, or it encounters a disaster, you can use the DR data in the secondary data center to quickly recover VMs to the secondary data center.
In this scenario, you can use the following methods to recover VMs:
• Scheduled recovery: Immediately shuts down the VMs in the primary data center, syncs the latest data to the secondary data center, and then automatically powers on the placeholder VMs in the secondary data center.
• Instant recovery: Immediately powers on placeholder VMs in the secondary data center. Data that has not been synced to the secondary data center is lost.
Production Center Business Recovery
After maintenance of the primary data center is complete or it recovers from the disaster, you can migrate the placeholder VMs in the secondary data center to the primary data center.
The migration immediately shuts down the VMs in the secondary data center, syncs the latest data to the primary data center, and recovers VMs in the primary data center.
