On the Snapshot page, click
to access the page for creating a snapshot policy. The operation steps are as follows:
Step 1.Select Storage Based Snapshot or Disk Based Snapshot.
A VM can only be associated with snapshots of the same type.
Storage Based Snapshot (Recommended)
Scenario: VMs using virtual storage provided by three or more nodes
Principle: Use storage ROW technology to take snapshots for VMs.
Benefits: Provide good performance when VMs use virtual storage to store data.
Disk Based Snapshot
Scenario: All VMs wherever they are stored (in local storage, external storage, or virtual storage).
Benefits: Compatible with multiple storage types
Step 2.Select specific virtual machines or consistency groups.
If the selected object has been added to a snapshot policy, it will be removed from that policy and added to the current policy.
Step 3.Configure the execution frequency of the snapshot policy; the options are Weekly, Daily, and Hourly.
