 Impacts and Solutions

If NIC name and shared virtual disk (virtual storage) UUID have changed, business services associated with original NIC or shared disk UUID may be unable to start. You can do the following:

Change NIC name: The name of the Linux VM's NIC 1 may be changed to NIC 2. Please change it to NIC1.

Change configuration associated with the shared virtual disk UUID if certain software in VM is associated with that UUID, as UUID of the new shared disk will change.

Get disk UUID as follows:

To get UUID of the disk /dev/sda, execute the command:

scsi_id --whitelisted --replace-whitespace --device=/dev/sda
