Virtual shared disks allow multiple virtual machines to mount the same disk, primarily used in Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) scenarios. By using virtual shared disks, the traditional deployment model of Oracle RAC can be significantly simplified, reducing complexity and costs. Both virtual storage and external storage can currently provide external storage shared disks.
Login SCP goes to Resource Center locate the resource pool you want to create share virtual disk, go to Storage > External Storage > Shared Virtual Disks click Create. Fill in the following information, then click OK.
Name: The name of the share disk.
Description: the description of the share disk.
Datastore: When there are multiple external storage volumes, select one volume as the source volume for creating the virtual storage.
Capacity: Specify the size of the shared disk.
Disks: The number of virtual shared disks to create.
Zero Out Data: If enabled, all the existing data on the disk will be overwritten with zeros, which may increase the time to create the disk.
