HCI supports adding local storage of disks except for the node system disk or a logical disk after the disks on the server are formed into the RAID as the virtual machine's datastore. Most important aspect of deploying local storage is confirming the compatibility of the disks. After selecting the appropriate disks, insert them into the corresponding nodes. Then, go to the HCI console and add the relevant disks as local storage.
The creation of virtual storage includes the following tasks.
Confirm the compatibility of the disk planning add to local storage. For the compatibility list you can check this link.
Configure RAID for the disks that are about to be added to the local storage in the BIOS, based on the requirements, to ensure it better meets the actual needs.
The datastore type is selected as local storage.
Select the physical nodes that need to be added to this local storage.
Select the disks that need to be added to local storage.
Waiting for the process to be completed.
The maximum capacity limit for adding a single local disk is 128TB.
