After the virtual storage group is set up, the disks inside the virtual storage can be deleted. Before performing the disk deletion action, please ensure that the heterogeneous requirements can still be met after the disk is deleted (refer to section 2.5.2.1.1). If a cache disk is deleted, the corresponding disk group for that cache disk will become unusable.
Steps:
Login SCP goes to Resource Center locate the resource pool you want to delete the disk, click Health Check.
Keep all options at their default settings, click Start if the health check score is not 100, please fix the unnormal items first.
Go back to the Resource Center locate the resource pool click Storage > Virtual Storage > Physical Disks, select the disk you want to delete click Isolat, there are two isolate modes ensure quick isolation and ensure data security, for delete disks please use ensure data security mode.
Ensure quick isolation: If a disk is isolated before data is migrated, one replica will be lost. However, virtual storage will conduct data check before disk isolation is performed, to avoid data unavailability caused by replica loss and damage if there are only 2 replicas stored.
Ensure data security: Migrate data from the disk to another disk and then isolate the disk. Isolating the disk will take some time, but this makes data more secure. After the disk is isolated and data migration is complete, it can be removed from virtual storage.
After selecting the isolate method click OK then enter the admin’s password in the new window click OK. After the disk isolated successfully (the status becomes Isolated) click select Delete click OK.
