Step 1: Login HCI go to Nodes > Communication Interfaces > Storage Network Interface click Storage Area Network Settings > Dedicated Mode (Recommended).

Step 2: specify deployment mode.

There are two deployment modes, one is standard link aggregation, the other one aggregation is disabled.

Standard link aggregation (Recommended):

Link aggregation is a network technology used to combine multiple network interfaces into a single logical interface to improve bandwidth and redundancy.

Benefits of Using Aggregated Ports:

1. Improved Data Communication Performance: Aggregated ports combine multiple physical network interfaces into a single logical interface, significantly increasing data transmission bandwidth to meet the demands of high-performance applications.
2. Redundancy and Backup: Aggregated ports offer redundancy features. If one network interface becomes unavailable, the other interfaces continue to function, ensuring uninterrupted service.
3. Traffic Balancing: Aggregated ports support traffic load balancing based on IP addresses, MAC addresses, and other factors, optimizing network resource usage and improving overall network efficiency.
4. Wide Range of Applicable Scenarios: Aggregated ports can be configured for HCI management ports, service ports, and VXLAN ports, enhancing network stability and reliability.
5. Simplified Network Management: The configuration of aggregated ports reduces the complexity of network device management, improving the maintainability of the network.

Link aggregation disabled:

Each server uses a single network interface as the storage network.

Step 3: Select interface.

Select the physical interface.

Step 4: Configure interface IP.

The HCI system will automatically assign an IP address and the corresponding subnet mask to the network interface. You can replace the default IP address with the planned IP address by directly entering it in the input box and adjusting the IP address subnet mask by clicking the Configure Netmask button.

Step 5: Confirm information.

Confirm all the information is correct then click the OK button to complete the process.
