Super administrators and tenants can perform operations such as uploading, editing, and distributing images:

The process of image uploading and distribution is illustrated below. First, the administrator uploads an image on the SCP platform and distributes it in batches to resource pools. The SCP platform itself only stores certain information about the image (such as the image’s operating system and file size) and does not save the image file itself. Image files are distributed to the shared storage on the corresponding clusters based on the resource pools selected by the user, with a separate copy of the file created for each cluster.

After uploading an image, the administrator can edit it at any time, for example, modifying the image name, image description, image OS name, and image resource pool information. Administrators can add or remove resource pools for an image. For a newly added resource pool, the SCP platform will distribute the image to it from other resource pools that already have the image (the HCI management networks between resource pools need to be connected). For a removed resource pool, the image will no longer be available for use in that resource pool.

The supported formats for imported images are ISO or VMA files, while the supported format for exported images is VMA files.
