Network Device Images

{{ $t('productDocDetail.updateTime') }}: 2025-12-18

Sangfor Cloud Technology Platform provides a series of virtual network devices, such as vAF, vAC, vAD, etc. Platform administrators can upload cloud host images that include the services of these network devices to create network device images, and configure and use them in the network topology.

During the operation and maintenance management of the cloud technology platform, images can be uploaded and created in the following ways:

Create a public image from an existing Virtual Machine

The platform administrator can select a Virtual Machine that has been configured according to requirements and create an image using this Virtual Machine as a template. The image created in this way retains all software and data in the system disk of the Virtual Machine. When creating an image in a resource pool of version 6.8.0 or later, the data of all disks of the Virtual Machine will be retained. This method requires the target Virtual Machine to be in the shutdown state, with the operating system and Sangfor Performance Optimization Tool installed.

Upload a local image file

The platform administrator can upload a local image file in SCP. Currently, only operating system ISO files and VMA files provided by Sangfor or other vendors are supported. The platform administrator can create a new Virtual Machine using the local image file. The ISO files uploaded by the platform administrator are not visible to tenants.
