aNI Deployment

{{ $t('productDocDetail.updateTime') }}: 2025-12-26

Introduction

To deploy aNI, you need to import aNI VMs, configure the network, and enable related services. Ensure that aNI VMs can properly collect and analyze network traffic to enable access relationship visualization and micro-segmentation policy recommendation.

The management network of aNI VMs must be connected to the HCI management network. It is recommended to deploy the management network of aNI VMs on the same network segment as the HCI management network.

If you change the connected platform (HCI or SCP), aNI must be redeployed.

Prerequisites

The VMA file for importing aNI VMs has been obtained.

The cloud platform (HCI or SCP) has been deployed and is running properly.

The IP addresses of aNI VMs have been planned and are on the same network segment as the HCI management network.

Precautions

Before deployment, check the integrity of the VMA file for importing aNI VMs to avoid import failures.

Confirm the IP addresses planned for aNI VMs with the HCI management network administrator to ensure network connectivity.

To enable the correlated security service, ensure that the required ports are not occupied by other services. Otherwise, service conflicts may occur.

Steps

Step 1.Log in to SCP, go to Networking > Network Insight, and click Deploy Now. Prepare the resources required for deployment as instructed.

Step 2.Click Deploy Now to go to the VM import page. Select the VMA file for aNI VM import as prompted.

Step 3.Select the VM group, datastore, storage policy, and run location to complete the aNI VM import.

Step 4.After the import is complete, find the imported VM and choose More > Edit in the Operation column. In the Edit Virtual Machine pop-up window, click the Configuration tab. In the Networking section of the Configuration tab, enable the NIC and connect it to an edge.

Step 5.Click Specify IP. In the Specify IP pop-up window, enable IPv4 and configure an IP address for the aNI VM. (The IP address must be able to communicate with the HCI management network, and using the same network segment is recommended.)

Step 6.Enable the port for correlated security service.

Step 7.Power on the aNI VM, and go to the VM console to select the connected platform (HCI or SCP) and complete the platform authentication.
