Introduction
Direct connect gateways are dedicated channels that connect resource pools and virtual switches, enabling direct communication across resource pools or tenants. You can add, edit, and delete direct connect gateways in Networking > Topology. Centralized management of these resources is supported.
Constraints and Restrictions
• Multiple direct connect gateways can be added to a resource pool, but each direct connect gateway can be associated with only one virtual switch.
• To delete a direct connect gateway, delete all its network connections (such as the connection to a router) first. Otherwise, the deletion will fail.
• A direct connect gateway can be associated with only a virtual switch in the same resource pool. To associate the gateway in a resource pool with a virtual switch in another resource pool, add the resource pools to a communication domain first.
Prerequisites
• A resource pool has been created (such as Hygon Cluster (c86) or Intel Xen Cluster (x86)).
• A virtual switch (to be associated with the direct connect gateway) has been created in the resource pool.
• The intended use (such as for a tenant's use or for cross-region communication) of the direct connect gateway is clearly defined, and the virtual switch to be associated with the gateway is identified.
Precautions
• For easy identification, the name of the direct connect gateway must reflect its use and the resource pool to which it belongs. (Example: x86 - Tenant A's Direct Connect Gateway)
• The virtual switch to be associated with the direct connect gateway must have a port group and VLAN configured to ensure traffic isolation.
Steps
1. Add Direct Connect Gateway
Step 1.Go to Networking > Topology and click Direct Connect Gateway. The Direct Connect Gateway pop-up window appears.
Step 2.Find the target resource pool (such as Intel Xen Cluster (x86)) and click Add Gateway.
Step 3.Configure the following fields:
| Field |
Description |
Operation Suggestion |
| Name |
Specify a custom name for the direct connect gateway to identify the use of the gateway and the resource pool to which it belongs. |
Format: Resource Pool - Use - Direct Connect Gateway (Example: IntelX86 - Tenant A - Direct Connect Gateway) |
| Virtual Switch |
Select an existing virtual switch in the resource pool to associate with the direct connect gateway. |
Select a virtual switch (Example: Edge-Connected Management Interface) with the port group and VLAN configured. |
Step 4.Click OK to add the direct connect gateway. The newly added direct connect gateway will appear in the direct connect gateway list of the resource pool.
2. Edit Direct Connect Gateway
Step 1.In the Direct Connect Gateway pop-up window, find the target direct connect gateway (Example: Direct Connect Gateway 1).
Step 2.Click Edit in the Operation column to change the name or associated virtual switch. (In some versions, you can directly change the field values.)
Step 3.Step 3. Click OK to save and apply the changes.
3. Delete Direct Connect Gateway
Step 1.In the Direct Connect Gateway pop-up window, find the target direct connect gateway.
Step 2.Click Delete in the Operation column. A confirmation pop-up window appears.
Step 3.Confirm that the gateway has no network connections, and click OK to delete it.
