Create Custom Attribute
Introduction
Custom attribute is a personalized description tool of a VM. You can add business attributes such as Manager, Phone Number, and associated business system, meeting the requirements of enterprises' granular management for VMs (Example: record the O&M personnel, emergency phone number, and associated business system for a VM).
Background
- Associate Attribute: Custom attributes must first be bound to global or VM specific attributes (Example: Manager, remark 1) by using the Associate with Attribute feature.
- Add Attribute: Go to the attribute creation page to add attribute.
Steps
Step 1.Log in to SCP and go to Resource Center > VMs.
Step 2.Choose one of the following methods to go to the Custom Attribute page:
• Method 1: Locate the VM you want to edit, click the more options button (···) in the Operation column and select Custom Attribute.
• Method 2: To bulk configure the custom attributes for VMs, select the VMs you want to edit, click More above the list, and select Custom Attribute.
Step 3.Associate or Configure Custom Attribute: If the message No public attributes available is displayed in the pop-up window, click Associate with Attribute, select the All or VMs tab, and select the attributes you want to associate (Example: Manager, Remark 1). If no attribute is selectable, click Create Attribute to go to the Custom Attributes page (See the Custom Attribute section of SCP - Resource Management Guide).
Step 4.After the attribute is associated, enter the Value in the Custom Attributes pop-up window and click OK to complete the configuration.
