Deallocation

{{ $t('productDocDetail.updateTime') }}: 2025-12-18

Introduction

To prevent business loss, you can recover an accidentally deleted VM from Recycle Bin by deallocating the VM. This operation is suitable for scenarios where a VM needs to be quickly recovered after accidental deletion (such as when a production VM is mistakenly deleted by the administrator and must be recovered promptly to restore the resources).

Precautions

Some VMs (such as all VMs owned by the logged-in user) cannot be deallocated. Check whether deallocation is supported for the VMs before performing the operation.

Steps

Step 1.Log in to SCP and go to Resource Center > VMs.

Step 2.Deallocate VMs by one of the following means:

Method 1: Find the VM that you want to deallocate, click the more options button (···) in the Operation column, and select Deallocate.

Method 2: To deallocate multiple VMs at a time, select the VMs, click More above the list, and select Deallocate.

Step 3.In the Deallocate Virtual Machine dialog, click OK.

Result Verification

Step 1.In the VM list, if the recovered VMs appear again and are in Off or On status (depending on the VM status before deletion), the deallocation has taken effect.
