A VM can be allocated to a specific tenant or tenant user, which facilitates resource isolation and permission control in multi-tenant scenarios. This operation is suitable for managing resources across different departments or teams within an organization. For example, test VMs for R&D can be allocated to tenant users in the R&D department, while business VMs for financial services can be allocated to tenants in the finance department.
Precautions
After an HCI VM is allocated to a tenant, the VM will be disconnected from the network. You can configure the VM network in the default group under that tenant or under the tenant user.
Steps
Step 1.Log in to SCP and go to Resource Center > VMs.
Step 2.Allocate VMs by one of the following means:
• Method 1: Find the VM that you want to allocate, click the more options button (···) in the Operation column, and select Allocate.
• Method 2: To allocate multiple VMs at a time, select the VMs, click More above the list, and select Allocate.
Step 3.In the Allocate Virtual Machine dialog, select the tenant and tenant user, and then click OK.
Result Verification
Step 1.Log in to SCP using the tenant or tenant user account and go to Resource Center > VMs. If the allocated VM appears in the list, the allocation has taken effect.
