A reset is a forced power-cycle on a VM (powering it off and then powering it on). This operation applies to scenarios where the VM becomes completely unresponsive, and a normal restart does not take effect (such as when the OS kernel crashes).
Precautions
Resetting a VM forcibly interrupts business services on the VM and may cause unsaved data to be lost. Ensure business data is backed up or can tolerate interruption before performing this operation. Try restarting the VM first, and perform a restart only when a normal restart is ineffective.
Steps
Step 1.Log in to SCP and go to Resource Center > VMs.
Step 2.Reset VMs by one of the following means:
• Method 1: Find the VM that you want to reset, click the more options button (···) in the Operation column, and select Reset.
• Method 2: To reset multiple VMs at a time, select the VMs, click More above the list, and select Reset.
Step 3.In the confirmation dialog, click OK.
Result Verification
Step 1.In the VM list, check the Status column. If On is displayed for the VMs, the operation has taken effect.
Step 2.Go to the VM details page and click the Tasks tab. View the reset operation records and confirm that the operation is complete.
