Restarting a VM helps resolve anomalies (such as system freezes and unresponsive services), and allows new apps or settings to take effect. Typical scenarios include restoring business services (such as services that respond slowly due to memory leaks) and applying new settings (such as after new software is installed).
Precautions
A restart causes a brief business interruption. It is recommended to perform this operation during off-peak hours.
Steps
Step 1.Log in to SCP and go to Resource Center > VMs.
Step 2.Restart VMs by one of the following means:
• Method 1: Find the VM that you want to restart, click the more options button (···) in the Operation column, and select Restart.
• Method 2: To restart multiple VMs at a time, select the VMs, click More above the list, and select Reboot.
Step 3. In the confirmation dialog, click OK.
Result Verification
Step 1.In the VM list, check the Status column. If On is displayed for the VMs, the operation has taken effect.
Step 2.Go to the VM details page and click the Scheduling History or Tasks tab to view the latest restart operation record and confirm that the restart is complete.
