Introduction

You can create custom alert notification policies to specify recipients and send alert notifications by email or SMS.

Precautions

If you set the SMTP server to a domain name, make sure that the DNS server of SCP can resolve the domain name. If not, set the SMTP server to an IP address.

Prerequisites

To specify the alert notification method, go to Resources > System > System >SMS & SMTP > SMS Gateway or SMTP Server.

Procedure

1. Log in to SCP as an administrator and go to Resources > Monitor Center > Alerts > Notification Policies. You can use the predefined policies provided by SCP or create custom notification policies.

2. Click Create to create a custom alert notification policy.

Alert Policies: Select existing alert policies related to platforms, nodes, storage, networks, and VMs.

Recipients: Specify the users to whom notifications are sent.
