Graphics Driver Installation and Licensing for Windows VMs

Function Description

After configuring vGPU for a VM, you need to install a graphics driver for the VM before proper use.

Prerequisites

If the GPU is compatible with HCI, refer to the NVIDIA official website for the compatibility between the Windows operating system and GPUs.

Procedure

  1. Configure the IP address, netmask, and gateway for the Windows VM.
  2. Install the graphics driver for the VM template, run the installer, and select all default options for installation. Then, restart the VM.
  3. If the driver is displayed in the Display adapters section of the Device Manager tab, the installation is successful, as shown in the figure below.
  4. Copy the client license key file obtained in section 5.2.15.1 "Deploy an NVIDIA Licensing Server" to

C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\vGPULicensing\ClientConfigToken.

  1. Restart the NVIDIA Display Container LS service.

  1. View the license status.
