Deleting Volume (High-Risk Operation)

Description

HCI administrators can manage the cluster's storage by volume, delete a specific volume, remove hosts and expand the cluster.

Precautions

Confirm that the volume that needs to be deleted data is None valid data.

Prerequisites

  1. Ensure that all the virtual machines running in this virtual datastore are shut down.
  2. Ensure that the virtual machines running in another virtual datastore but stored in this one are shut down.
  3. If the iSCSI virtual disks provided by this virtual datastore are not to be used anymore, end all the iSCSI connections.

Steps

  1. Go to Storage > Virtual Storage > Virtual Datastore and click on the volume that needs to be removed.
  2. On the storage Summary page, click Delete to remove this storage.
  3. Check the I am sure that all data is safely migrated checkbox and click OK to proceed.

  1. Enter the HCI administrator password and click OK.
