System Disk Software RAID Group

{{ $t('productDocDetail.updateTime') }}: 2026-01-05

Description

Supports selecting 1 or 2 disks to install HCI in RAID 1 mode.

Supports displaying the status of software RAID groups and adding, deleting, and replacing one disk in them at a time.

Supports automatically handling the failed disk and alerting the failure type by the system backend when a single disk fails.

Supports replacing both disks and importing configurations from the cluster to recover services when both disks fail.

Supports fast system installation by recovering the motherboard.

Precautions

  1. It is recommended to select 2 disks to install HCI in RAID 1 mode to enhance single-host reliability.
  2. It is recommended to use an all-in-one machine that has passed Sangfor’s compatibility test to avoid reliability issues and evaluate compatibility before using a non-all-in-one machine.

Prerequisites

Please use software RAID only on servers without RAID cards.

Steps

  1. Go to Nodes > System Disks and click Edit Software RAID Settings of a software RAID.
  2. View RAID Level, Capacity, and member disk information.
