XBSA App can be deployed on the NetBackup client or on the NetBackup master server or media server.
When XBSA App is deployed on the NetBackup client, the backup data needs to be transmitted from the HCI to the NetBackup client via the backup data transmission network port and then forwarded by the client to the NetBackup media server. To achieve the best performance, it is necessary to ensure that the network bandwidth between the client where the XBSA App is located and the NetBackup media server is high enough. It is recommended to use a 10 Gigabit network port or above. If the NetBackup client host is deployed on the HCI, it is recommended to use a 10 Gigabit or above edge. It is necessary to ensure that there is enough backup data transmission bandwidth between the NetBackup client and the NetBackup media server.
When XBSA App is deployed on the NetBackup media server and the backup storage is mounted on the media server where the XBSA App is located, the backup data does not need to be forwarded to the media server through the network, and the backup performance can be optimized. This deployment method is recommended.
