NetBackup backup requires network connectivity between systems. The specific network requirements are as follows:
XBSA needs to be able to access ports 443 and 40809–40824 on the HCI. HCI and SCP need to be able to access port 8888 on XBSA. XBSA (deployed on the NBU client) needs to be able to access port 1556 of the NetBackup(master server, Media Server and client).
Systems
Port
Description
SCP
443
SCP OpenAPI access port
HCI
443
HCI OpenAPI access port.
It is necessary to ensure that SCP is connected to this port.
XBSA App will not directly connect to this port.
40809-40824
For agentless backup ports,
Configuring a backup policy will automatically open the port.
NetBackup
443
NetBackup Web UI port.
1556
NetBackup Private
Branch Exchange Service
Port.
XBSA App
8888
Communication port with SCP; the port can be modified.
It is recommended to configure a dedicated Interface for Backup Data Transfer in LAN Mode for backup data transmission to ensure sufficient bandwidth. (SCP configuration path Reliability > Scheduled Backup/CDP > Settings) Separating the backup network from the service network also helps prevent interference between different network planes.
