Athena EPP supports on-premises and SaaS deployment, where the Athena EPP manager is deployed on Linux servers for centralized management of Athena EPP agents. The Athena EPP manager collaborates with the Sangfor security cloud over the Internet, whereas the Athena EPP agent on each endpoint connects to Athena EPP over an internal network. It provides accurate security intelligence and solutions to local endpoint users, with data encrypted during communication. The deployment is shown in the following figure.
