The Advanced Application Signature recognizes application types of all kinds of Internet access data. It differs from the Application Signature in the identification mode. The Advanced Application Signature can recognize encrypted data, such as ciphertext or plaintext P2P applications, Skype, SSL, Sangfor VPN data, web proxy, and PiPi. See the following figure.
