Athena NGFW (previously known as Network Secure) provides comprehensive protection for every network perimeter, ensuring the safety of your valuable assets, data, and users from emerging threats.
Local DoS protection is to defend against attacks aimed at the Network Secure device itself. Click This Device Protection to set the protection type, as shown in the following figure.
1. Enabling this feature is generally not recommended. The packet exchange frequency of some popular applications may exceed the Threshold, especially if your Threshold setting is too low, which can cause network outages.
2. This feature should only be used in scenarios with very strict firewall protection, and where there is no traffic on your network that generates frequent packet exchanges. Alternatively, you need to ensure that the Threshold value is set high enough.
3. If you want to restrict access to the firewall itself, you can refer to section 6.2.3 to configure Local ACL to allow only specific addresses to access the firewall.
